Schwartz Performance has been building custom muscle cars, hot rods, and trucks for ten years now. We are not a general mechanic shop, nor a body/collision shop. We’re a custom car builder and performance shop. Our capabilities include but are not limited to: Chassis fabrication, engine building, sheet metal fabrication & panel fitment, complete wiring & stereos, mechanics & assembly, and performance parts consulting & sales. There is no job too big or too small!

Why would I want to modify my old car?

We’re the leader in bolt-in muscle car chassis, and install them into all of our major car builds. By adding a modern chassis to an old body, you get the handling & ride quality of a new car but the unique looks of a classic ride. Pair that with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, or a modern engine, and you’ve got the performance you want out of your classic.

Sure, you (or anyone) can go to the Chevrolet dealer and spec out options for a new Corvette, and there are some options to choose from.. But we build your dream car! One that is 100% personalized for your tastes, retains a classic appearance, and can drive just as great as a new car. You can’t ask for much more than that. Additionally, nobody else can go out and buy exactly what you have us build. Each vehicle is unique.

What’s Schwartz Performance’s specialty?

We build cars that are able to be driven, and driven comfortably. We don’t build trailer queens!

Why should I have Schwartz Performance build my car as opposed to another shop?

-We don’t cut corners. Our team is made up of professionals to get each task done correctly.

-As stated earlier, our cars are built to be driven. We use all new components, not inferior or used parts that would sacrifice the quality.

-We operate a clean, organized shop, and have the efficiency to work on many projects at once. The labor hours we put forth are spent working on the car, not looking for tools scattered all over the bench.

-We have strong relationships with manufacturers. This strengthens our reputation as a builder, as many manufacturers have strict policies in place to weed out the “fly by night” shops.

-Jeff Schwartz’s background: Most of Jeff’s career was in tool & die, and manufacturing. He managed a few different plants in the Chicagoland area, and was a hobbyist in the automotive field. Jeff also has a racing background, including wins in SCCA and IMSA series.

How long does a build take?

-A complete build from teardown to completion takes anywhere from 9-14 months. Smaller jobs not requiring panel replacement and paint jobs take much less time. On average, our full builds have 1100-1400 man hours put into them. It all depends on the scope of the project, and the condition of the project car.
